Passengers who purchase airline tickets from budget airline Ryanair do not seem to shy away after the many strikes by the cabin crew and pilots at Ryanair in the last couple of months. In fact, Ryanair has seen a rise in passengers compared to the same period last year.

Increase in passengers despite flight delays and cancellations

A total of 12.6 million passengers booked a flight with Ryanair, which is accompanied by an increase of 6 percent. It has been known for a while that Ryanair has taken over the Australian airline Lauda. Here 500,000 people boarded the plane. The Lauda planes were almost full, with 93 percent in the month of September. At Ryanair, this percentage was 97. In September, a total of 68,000 flights were carried out by the airline company Ryanair.

Strikes and flight cancellations

Ryanair cancelled 400 flights in September due to the strikes. Ryanair employees have shut down their work several times already due to poor working conditions. In comparison with a total of 68,000 flights, this is only a small fraction for the low-cost airline.

Setback

Despite an increase in the number of flights at Ryanair, it is preparing for a possible decline in profits. One of the measures is the closure of a number of bases at airports.
